How to make a connection

Making a connection allow user to call out to Internet and share Internet access with other workstation.

Step 1

To setup connection, go to Start and select Settings and after that click Network and Dial Up Connection.

A window will appear

Step 2

Click Next to continue.

Step 3

For our purpose, we would like to make a new connection to dial out to access Internet.

Select Dial up to the Internet. Click Next to continue.

Step 4

Then the IE explore setup wizard will appear as shown below. From here choose I want to setup my Internet connection manually or I want to connect through a LAN option and click Next to continue.

Then another window will appear.

Step 5

Select the option I connect through a phone line and a modem and click Next to continue.

Step 6

Then another window will prompt you to provide the area code and telephone number for the dial out. Please enter it here and click Next to proceed.

Step 7

Here user will need to provide the login name and password. Once completed, click on Next to move the next wizard window.

Step 8

Once the connection is set and if you want to allow Internet sharing between workstation you need to set the connection to be shared. Right click on the connection and choose Properties.

click on Sharing and select Enable Internet Connection Sharing for this connection.
