How to make a shared file available to users during offline

How to make a shared file available to users during offline

Windows 2000 allows caching to allow user to access shared file even after the Server went offline.

Step 1

To implement caching, go to the folder that you have opened up in order to share file available to users during offline.

Step 2

Then click on Caching. Another window will appear as shown below:

Step 3

Change the settings to Automatic Caching for Documents.

The difference between Automatic Caching for Documents and Automatic Caching for Programs is Automatic Caching for Documents prevents any changes that are made during the server applied as offline from being synchronized across the server.
